Janoris Jenkins had something to say during the Florida-Auburn game on Saturday.
He posted on his Twitter account “U had da best corner n da Nation in you released him==> Miss ME Wen I’m gne… #POW”
I’ve said it many times: Janoris Jenkins is one of my all-time favorites.
But that pissed me off.
Will Muschamp may have “released” Jenkins from the team, but Janoris did this to himself. Muschamp had no choice in the matter.
Once Jenkins was caught with marijuana for a second time during Muschamp’s first few months as head coach, Muschamp had no choice but to send Jenkins on his way.
But now that Florida’s losing Jenkins thinks Muschamp might want him back?
Hell no.
Jenkins was part of the problem that made Urban Meyer a punching bag for ridicule. Over 30 players were arrested during Meyer’s tenure at Florida; an astronomical number.
While Meyer was attacking agents and the scumbags of the sports world, his players were smoking weed, using a dead girl’s credit card, slapping women and sending threatening text messages.
Meyer kept a handful of these arrested players on the team for whatever reason.
Janoris Jenkins was one of them. He was arrested in May of 2009 for a downtown fight.
Strike one.
He remained on the team, which was completely understandable given the circumstances of the situation.
January of 2011, Jenkins arrested for marijuana possession.
Strike two (first under Muschamp).
April of 2011, Jenkins arrested - again - for marijuana possession.
Strike three.
Muschamp has no choice but to let Jenkins go.
But now Jenkins thinks Muschamp might be second-guessing his decision to let Jenkins go?
Once again, Janoris, you have lost your damn mind.
He doesn’t want you back because you’re a screw-up that won’t learn from your mistakes.
And Muschamp doesn’t want the same cloud hanging over his head that Urban Meyer did; that he will let his good players get away with almost anything just to win football games.
