The next four games…
All right, the first quarter of the season is in the books. UF is 4-0, right where everyone expected. I’ll have more on the first four games later.
The next four games are going to be brutal. Alabama, at LSU, at Auburn and UGA in Jacksonville.
Alabama and LSU, depending on who you ask, are the two best teams in the country.
Auburn’s having a down year, but for some reason they give UF a lot of trouble.
UGA’s coach, Mark Richt, is on the hot seat. He has to beat Florida to keep his job. And that might not be enough this year.
My point is that going 2-2 in that stretch would be a success. And we’d definitely be in a position to win the East.
If we go…
0-4: Disaster. Either some key players got injured or Brantley had some bad memories creep back into his head.
1-3: Still bad. Would be a disappointment.
2-2: Good job. You beat who you should’ve beat and hopefully kept the other two games competitive.
3-1: Wow, this team’s a lot better than we all expected. A lot better.
4-0: Start the Muschamp/Weis presidential campaign. If they can solve all of UF’s problems and start the season 8-0, the economy should be easy for them to fix.
